This September, both SEIKO and CITIZEN are rolling out new watch models across several of their signature series. From craftsmanship-driven classic dials to sporty chronographs and elegant ladies’ collections, here’s a look at what’s new, organized by series.
SEIKO
1. PRESAGE
Launched in 2011 under the concept of “affordable luxury,” PRESAGE is SEIKO’s mechanical watch series built on Japanese craftsmanship. Many models translate traditional Japanese arts — Arita porcelain, enamel, and urushi lacquer — onto the dial, and the line is known for its use of scratch-resistant sapphire crystal.
Two of this month’s releases, HCC005J and HCC006J, trace their design directly back to “Laurel,” Japan’s first domestically produced wristwatch from 1913 — an achievement later recognized as a Mechanical Engineering Heritage by the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers. HCC005J revives Laurel’s enamel dial, hand-fired one piece at a time by veteran enamel craftsmen at Fuji Enamel’s Tsukuba workshop, with Laurel’s signature Arabic numerals and a red “12” as an accent. HCC006J is the first model to reinterpret the Laurel design in urushi lacquer, finished under the supervision of lacquer artist Ichishu Tamura together with Echizen lacquerware craftsmen, building up layers of lacquer and polishing to achieve a deep, glossy black complemented by gold accents. Both share a slim 39.6mm case with dual-curved sapphire crystal, an oil-tanned LWG-certified leather strap, and the automatic Caliber 6R5H movement with roughly 72 hours of power reserve. This month’s lineup also includes a Japanese Garden-themed pair and a TRADMAN’S BONSAI limited edition, both continuing the Craftsmanship line’s focus on Japanese motifs.

2. PROSPEX
PROSPEX is SEIKO’s professional sports watch line, built across four distinct sub-series to handle demanding environments from diving to mountaineering. This month’s lineup highlights two of them: the SPEEDTIMER, which carries on SEIKO’s motorsport chronograph heritage in both solar and mechanical form, and the Alpinist, originally created for mountaineers, here in a core-shop-exclusive GMT model. (Eight models were released in total this month; the five below represent the different sub-lines.)

3. SEIKO 5 SPORTS
Born in 1968 to meet the era’s sports boom, SEIKO 5 SPORTS is a casual watch line known for durable specs — enhanced water resistance, luminous markers, reinforced glass — paired with bold, vivid color schemes.
This month’s HDB010J is a limited-edition collaboration with Honda’s MOTOCOMPO, the fold-up “trunk bike” launched in 1981 to pair with the Honda City. Built on the compact, 36.4mm Field series case, the dial recreates the MOTOCOMPO’s yellow body and black accent line, with a Honda logo along the black line and a special “AUTOMATIC” lettering at 6 o’clock inspired by the MOTOCOMPO’s own logo font. The crown is marked “TURN,” echoing the fuel cock design, while the strap carries “CARRYING POINT” and “INSERTION POINT” markings inspired by the parts used to strap the MOTOCOMPO into a car trunk. The case back is engraved with the MOTOCOMPO’s silhouette, “Limited Edition” text, and an individual serial number, and each watch ships in a special box styled after the MOTOCOMPO’s original shipping carton. The edition is limited to 8,000 pieces worldwide (1,200 in Japan).

4. CITIZEN COLLECTION
CITIZEN COLLECTION is the brand’s core lineup, pursuing fundamental watchmaking performance and design across Eco-Drive, radio-controlled, and mechanical models. This month’s three releases are all mechanical (automatic) pieces with simple, timeless designs.

5. Kii:
Kii: is CITIZEN’s delicate, antique-inspired ladies’ line, pairing a slender, accessory-like design with a tiny Eco-Drive movement. This month’s EG7049-53Y is a 850-piece worldwide limited edition with a handsome rectangular case, matching its soft gray plated case to a gray mother-of-pearl dial for a refined, elegant look that shifts subtly with the light. It runs on the Eco-Drive Caliber G620 (accuracy of ±15 seconds/month, roughly 8 months of reserve on a full charge) and uses a stainless steel free-size band with an interchangeable strap structure, so the band can be swapped out later.

6. xC
Launched in 1996 under the concept of “cool and sharp watches for every woman,” xC pairs lightweight, scratch-resistant titanium (with CITIZEN’s Duratect surface treatment) with feminine styling, and many models add Eco-Drive or radio-controlled functions. This month’s release is a square-cased, interchangeable-band model.
